School First, Videos Second (Trust Me On This)
Hey guys!! Its back to school time, so a lot of people asked how me and Zander balance school and YouTube. Thank you for asking, and thank you for reading, it helps us out a lot. So let me explain how it works for us.
We are homeschooled with online classes, and we take some advanced classes too. People think homeschool means you just game all day, but NOPE. We still have real classes, real homework and real tests.
Rule #1: School comes first. Always. We do our classes and homework before we even think about recording. If you start a video first, you will be like "just five more minutes" and then its night time and your homework isnt done. Trust me lol.
Rule #2: Make a schedule. Have set times for classes, homework, breaks and videos. When you know when youre gonna make videos, you dont have to stress about it during school.
Rule #3: Shorts are your best friend. When you dont have a lot of time, make a short instead of a long video. My Folk Valley Roblox short got 5,674 views and it didnt take forever to make. My RNG machine short where I did 25 rolls was quick too.
Rule #4: Save big videos for when you have time. Long videos take a LOT longer to edit. Like my "It's me it's verity" video with no music or vocals (credits to HorrorSkunx) took way more work than a short. So save those for weekends or days with less homework.
Rule #5: SLEEP. Dont stay up super late editing. If you are tired, you cant focus in class, and your videos come out worse too. Its a lose lose.
Real talk, if you want to be a YouTuber, keep studying hard and getting good grades. YouTube can change any day, but what you learn in school stays with you forever. Plus school literally helps your channel, like writing helps with titles and scripts and math helps you understand your views and stats.
Zander does the same thing. Sometimes we remind each other like "bro did you finish your homework?" before we start recording lol.
Good luck to everyone going back to school this year!! You got this. And thanks for reading all the way to the end, not many people do!!
