MAY RECAP: The Month of Shorts
Yo whats up guys!! Its the end of May so its time for a monthly recap of both our channels. And ngl this month was kinda different.
My channel (Zander Animations): I posted 0 long videos and 4 shorts this month. Those 4 shorts have pulled in 1,820 views and 43 likes so far. My top one by FAR was my backrooms short (the #backrooms #backroomsstyle #memes #edit one) with 1,261 views. Then my #catmemes short with 266 views and it is so annoying with 233. So the backrooms stuff was DEFINITELY the winner this month.
Asher's channel (Asher Situations Official): Asher posted 0 long videos and 2 shorts, and those 2 shorts got 5,295 views and 62 likes so far. His subscribe if you want the recipe short hit 3,154 views and why cuz were playing bendy got 2,141. So yeah he posted less than me but got MORE views. Respect bro lol.
Lets be honest about why. We didnt post a lot of long videos because we have been busy with school, and school comes first. Plus coming up with fresh ideas all the time is genuinely hard. Some weeks you have 10 ideas and some weeks you have zero and you just kinda start doom scrolling instead.
What worked: Backrooms content. People clearly like it. Asher's funny meme style shorts did great too.
What flopped: My #hoyoverse short only got 60 views lol. And honestly the difference between my backrooms short and everything else is HUGE, like one short did way more than the other three put together. Not every short hits and thats fine. You just learn from it and make the next one.
Being busy with school is not a bad thing btw. Getting good grades and studying hard is honestly more important than any video. YouTube will still be there after your homework is done, I promise.
Advice if you wanna start a channel: Dont stress if you have a slow month. Shorts are a great way to keep posting when you dont have time for a full video. Watch what does well and do more of that. And dont compare yourself to your friend too much (even if your best friend gets more views than you with less shorts lol).
